A winter full of activities in Charlevoix

Enjoy a cottage stay at Les Sommets Charlevoix and get a front row seat for winter activities!
Once you've settled into your cozy cottage for your winter vacation in Charlevoix, you may want to try some winter activities.
Charlevoix has many winter mountain activities for families.

Massif de Charlevoix, Ski Resort

Come and ski on the highest peak east of the Canadian Rockies! The immense mountain offers a spectacular panoramic view of the St. Lawrence River and the surrounding mountains. The abundance of snow will make more than one fan dream! In addition, a very original activity is available: sledding! A 7.5 km long course allowing you to hurtle down the slope at top speed (reservations required).

Le Massif Sledding

Sled down Le Massif de Charlevoix by day and night! Starting at an altitude of 816 m and stretching over 7.5 km, the Massif de Charlevoix toboggan run is the longest in North America.  Departing from the Mont à Liguori summit, north of the resort, the trail is safe and exclusively dedicated to this activity, allowing you to evolve in a lesser known sector of Le Massif. And just like on its famous trails, the unobstructed view of the St. Lawrence River and the surrounding mountains is a must!

GUARANTEED SENSATION

This guided activity is for everyone, and will appeal to children - aged 10 and up - as well as to adults. This is a great option for those who are not too keen on downhill skiing or who simply want to vary the pleasures of winter activities.
Day or night, once you've tasted the joys of sledding at Le Massif, you'll want to go down again, we guarantee it!

The mountains are not just about skiing in winter. Snowshoeing has its fans. With its varied relief, Charlevoix allows you to diversify your pleasures. Stroll on the heights in the sun, in the woods or more technical hikes, it's up to you. The valleys are rich in marked itineraries for your snowshoeing excursions: with your family or alone, this activity combines fun and relaxation.

The region's national parks, the Grands-Jardins and its taiga and the Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie with its landscapes worthy of the forces of nature, stand out thanks to these striking natural features. (Pairs of snowshoes and poles available free of charge at the Welcome Pavilion).

Ice Skating

Ice skating is another favorite winter activity in the Charlevoix region. Put on your skates and come skate at the Sommets Charlevoix outdoor rink.
In our part of the world, winter is synonymous with ice skating. Whether you're a budding skater or an aspiring Olympic athlete, put on your gloves, strap on your skates and hit the ice. Our outdoor skating rink and ice rink are perfect for all kinds of occasions, from family skating to field hockey games.
We are waiting for you for a good dose of fun. (Pairs of skates and field hockey sticks are available free of charge at the Welcome Centre).
